I know! I know! This video is long overdue but a) I’m weird in front of the camera and b) the Pepper Shack is my personal space…I wanted it to be just right before I had company over for a cabin tour. Ya know what I mean?
After lots of thrifting, I finally have it to a level of coziness appropriate for a video. See before and after photos!
*If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen this entire process of thrifting and renovating already!
However, as I said, I’m nervous in front of the camera, which means my Minnesotan accent really reaches out and smacks you in the face.
I was dragging my feet a little bit on filming…so you know what I did? I decided to throw all my fancy filming ideas and techniques out the door and just walk you up to my cabin and show you around as if you were right there next to me.
No slow motion. No sweet edits. Not a bit of music. Just good old fashioned home video! I hope you don’t mind.
With that being said, this is a video tour, with a few stories sprinkled in there. I don’t go into much of the history of the cabin. If you want to read the full story behind the Pepper Shack, you can read the blog post about it HERE.
After you’ve been on the virtual tour, I want to know if you would ever live in a cabin like the Pepper Shack? What would you need to add? (*cough, cough, hot shower) Or maybe you’d leave everything the way it is? Let me know in the comments!
Happy Trails,

Happy Trails,
Thanks for sharing your personal space! Very cozy and a great use of your limited space! Loved your commentary, too!
Thanks for the tour, Ash!
Since your water is turned off at camp in the winter, where do you have to go to do laundry? Into Grand Marais? Do you haul in drinking water then, or melt snow? Love the cabin, and yes, I would live there!
Wow! Thatβs impressive Ashley…thanks for sharing!
????
Yes, this looks so so great!!! Awesome adventure indeed!!!!
Next up, the sauna!!!
OMG I love your little cabin! Thanks for giving us a tour π
I just love that you said menagerie in the video!
But seriously, was wondering what/where you eat? I guess I’m assuming there’s more of a kitchen available in one of the other buildings? Toast for days ain’t bad either. π
Hahahaha your comment just made me laugh! You’re right, toast for days ain’t bad…I could get by on toast for a while. But I don’t have to. My dad has a full-blown kitchen up in his cabin that I use.
